Passports and Visas
In order to avoid problems at departure, we kindly ask guests to carefully check the validity of their documents and to be in possession of what is required for the cruise. If any guest does not possess the required documentation they will be denied their cruise and cancellation penalties will be applied. Guests must be in possession of a passport valid six (6) months past trip completion and any Visas (if required). Any discrepancies (including nicknames and abbreviated names) may prevent travel and make insurance policies invalid.
Please be aware that fees and visa requirements can change without notice. For latest information about the needed travel documents, please contact the appropriate governmental agencies and embassies to determine what documentation may be required.
All guests, including children, require a passport that is valid 6 months past trip completion. Where children traveling without their parents, legal guardians, or anyone registered in the child’s documentation, Costa Cruises requires that they verify what documentation is required for the child to travel with the relevant authorities.
E-passports: According to the regulations given by the United States Department of Homeland Security, which refer to the Visa Waiver Program, Costa Cruises reminds guests that the United States requires that travelers entering the country under the Visa Waiver Program have an epassport if their passport was issued on or after October 26, 2006. Travel under the Visa Waiver Program is limited to those who possess passports with specified security features such as a machine-readable zone on the biographic page and a digital chip containing biometric information about the passport owner. As of April 1, 2016, all travelers must have an e-passport to qualify for the Visa Waiver Program. E-passports are issued by the appropriate passport issuing authority and must meet international standards for securing and storing information corresponding to the passport and passport owner.
Passports may be retained by Costa Cruises staff at embarkation and withheld for the entire duration of the cruise so they can be presented to the various port authorities. Passports are then made available only when guests require them to go ashore.
The following information must be provided by the guest:
- First and last name (as it appears on the passport).
- Age and Nationality.
- Date and place of birth.
- Document details
- CostaClub number (if applicable).
- The first name, last name and telephone number of a family member or friend who canbe contacted by Costa Cruises if necessary during the cruise.
Each guest must have in their own possession proper documentation required by the government of the port of embarkation and all ports of call included in the itinerary. The guest is advised to consult with their travel agent, the appropriate governmental agencies and embassies to determine the documentation that will be required (guests should advise they are sailing with Costa Cruises). Costa Cruises assumes no responsibility for advising the guest of immigration or any other governmental requirements. Costa Cruises may refuse to embark the guest or may disembark the guest in the event that the guest does not present the required documentation. Such denied boarding or disembarkation will be without liability to Costa Cruises and no refund of the cruise fare or other paid services will be due to the guest.
Governmental requirements may change without notice. Additional restrictions and requirements may exist for entrance into other countries and guests are advised to check with relevant embassies and consulates. Guests without proper travel documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of cruise fare will be given to any guest failing to bring the required documentation.
Costa will make every attempt to satisfy special dietary needs. Guests must notify their travel agent or Costa Cruises of any special dietary request at the time of booking. A form will be provided for guests to complete and submit at a minimum of four (4) to six (6) weeks prior to sailing.
Carefree Travel Protection
Costa offers Carefree Travel Protection, a custom-tailored package of both insurance and non-insurance benefits to provide reimbursement for losses that may occur while you cruise. The Carefree Travel Insurance Program is underwritten by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and its affiliates, including Nationwide Life Insurance, Columbus, Ohio (NAIC #23787).
This plan provides cancellation coverage for your trip and other insurance coverages that apply only during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer, insurance agent or broker.
Carefree Travel Protection protects your cruise vacation investment should you have to cancel or interrupt your cruise for unexpected, specified reasons. Carefree Travel Protection provides reimbursement in the event of trip and baggage delays and provides medical expense reimbursement if you should fall ill or have an accident during your trip. This is especially important when you travel overseas, because Medicare and many private insurance policies may not provide coverage when traveling outside North America.
Trip Cancellation/Trip Interruption
Enables you to cancel or interrupt your cruise vacation for illness, injury or death to you, an immediate family member or a traveling companion, and receive reimbursement up to your total trip cost (maximum limit $50,000 per guest).
If you miss the departure of your cruise due to carrier-caused delays or other specified reasons, you will be reimbursed up to $1,000 en route to a vacation for additional accommodations, meals and “catch-up” transportation expenses.
- Baggage Protection: If your baggage or personal property is lost or damaged, you could be reimbursed up to $1,500. If your bags are delayed or misdirected by a common carrier for more than 24 hours, you could be reimbursed up to $500 for the purchase of necessary personal effects.
- Medical Expense Coverage: Should you become injured or sick during your vacation, you could be reimbursed up to $10,000 for medical expenses related to an illness, or up to $10,000 for expenses related to an injury.
- Emergency Evacuation: In the event that serious illness or injury requires air or ground transportation to a specialized facility or to return home, you could be provided up to $30,000 in covered medical services and supplies (coordinated by our 24-hour assistance provider) to help ensure your safe transport.
Carefree Cancellation Enhancement
If your Trip Cancellation claim is denied due to a Pre-Existing Condition, Costa will provide you with a future travel credit equal to the cancellation fee amount. This non-insurance feature is provided by Costa.
24/7 Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services
Provides 24-hour assistance services including: pre-cruise health, safety and weather information; assistance with travel changes; lost luggage assistance; emergency cash transfer assistance; emergency medical and dental assistance; lost travel document assistance; and emergency medical payment assistance. Non-insurance assistance services are provided by On Call International.

In the travel documents, guests will also find information on Visas, embarkation, disembarkation and emergency telephone numbers. Guests will be sent travel documents approximately three (3) weeks prior to departure, provided the reservation is paid in full, and the Web Check-In is completed. Further information about the procedures and timing of the arrival of travel documents can be obtained from the guests' travel agent. Web Check-In is the most efficient way to ensure we have all the information needed from guests for a smooth departure. At least one month before departure, guests must fill in the boarding form online at www.mycosta.com with the personal information and document details of all guests included in the booking, including:
- Place and date of birth.
- Identity document details.
- A personal mobile telephone number for each passengertraveling.
- The last name and telephone number of a family member or friend who can becontacted by Costa Cruises if necessary during the cruise.
Guests must print the completed form and bring it with them when they board the ship to guarantee a smooth boarding process.
Customize your Cruise
Guests may customize their cruise by reserving excursions, spa treatments, specialty dining, purchasing drink packages and more at www.mycosta.com when they access their personal account by entering their last name and booking number. In order to access www.mycosta.com, guests must create a personal account using the same exact information they provided when they purchased the cruise. Cruises can be customized online up to the date shown by the system after entering the required information (4 days prior to the departure of the ship, depending on the itinerary booked). Guests are also able to view and print a summary of their cruise and access a wealth of other valuable information.
Shore excursions are scheduled to accommodate the ship’s sailing times and allow guests to make the most of their visit in each destination. Shore excursions may be reserved at www.mycosta.com up to four (4) days prior to the cruise. After that time, guests will be charged on board and are subject to 100% cancellation fees. Guests may purchase shore excursions on board at the Shore Excursion Desk. Excursions are not refundable. The price of the excursion includes transport, a guide in the ports in the languages offered, and entry to museums and monuments, unless otherwise stated in the relevant excursion descriptions. Meals and drinks are only included in the price when explicitly indicated. The tour schedule and prices may be altered without prior notice by the organizer at any time before the excursion takes place. We suggest purchasingexcursions as soon as possible as capacity is limited. Shore excursions are also subject to minimum participation levels and may be cancelled if these requirements are not met, in which case payment will be refunded.
Unless indicated otherwise, means of transport on excursions are not specifically equipped for guests with disabilities. If requested by guests, Costa Cruises may suggest excursions suitable for their needs. Excursions suitable for guests with slight mobility issues are marked as such with a special symbol. For further details, please visit www.costacruises.com for an updated selection of excursions available on each cruise, with a description of the excursion, duration, photographs and in many cases, videos.
Pregnancy and/or Physical/Mental/Medical Disability
As the vessels are not equipped to offer assistance in pregnancy and childbirth, bookings will not be accepted from passengers who have entered 23 weeks and 6 days of estimated fetal gestational age at any time during the cruise. All pregnant women must provide to Costa Cruises at the time of booking and at embarkation a physician’s letter stating the estimated date of delivery, the mother and baby are in good health and fit to travel and the pregnancy is not at risk. Costa Cruises will not, in any way, be held responsible for any event that occurs during or after the trip and arising out of or related to pregnancy.
Guests who may require medical treatment or special accommodations during the cruise must report this information to Costa Cruises in writing at the time the reservation is made. This information will be forwarded by Costa Cruises to the ship’s doctor for review. Failure to provide such information prior to sailing may require Costa Cruises to cancel the reservation, assessing any applicable cancellation charges if sufficient time is not provided to make an adequate assessment of the medical condition or any special accommodations or other requirements necessitated by such disability or condition. Costa Cruises reserves the right to revoke or refuse passage to anyone who may, in the sole judgment of the ship’s doctor, require treatment, care or accommodations beyond that which the ship’s facilities can reasonably or readily provide, or whose mental or physical condition may make them unsuitable for or incapable of a cruise voyage due to the limited facilities on board or who may create an unreasonable risk of injury or harm to themselves or others. Costa Cruises and its authorized representatives shall assume no responsibility whatsoever, nor shall they be liable, for any consequence arising from the failure of the guest and/or the travel agent to provide such information. By accepting a guest with a physical or mental condition or disability, Costa Cruises assumes no liability for such guest beyond that assumed for any other guest as provided in the information on this website and in the Passage Ticket Contract. All guests are subject to all the limitations and terms and conditions set forth in the Passage Ticket Contract.
Guests with Special Needs
Costa Cruises wishes to satisfy the needs of those who have mobility issues, visual impairments and other disabilities. International regulations require the Company to be aware of any needs of personal assistance in the case of emergency of its guests in order to make the necessary arrangements. This information must be provided directly to Costa Cruises by the guest or through the travel agent. Guests with special needs who require equipment must inform Costa Cruises or their travel agent of the dimensions of such equipment that they plan to bring on board the ship at the time of booking.
Because requirements for inoculations often change, guests must contact their local health service or personal physician for specific information.
Minors Policy/Minimum Sailing Age Requirements
Infants must be at least six (6) months of age at the time of embarkation to sail. Infants must be at least 12 months of age at the time of embarkation to sail on transatlantic cruises, World Cruises, cruises of 15 days or longer duration, and any other itinerary which may in the opinion of Costa Cruises present serious risk to infants in need of emergency medical care.
Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. On certain departures, guests 21-24 years old must have one person at least 25 years old in the same cabin, who shall be responsible for the under age 25 years old guest(s). Guests who are responsible for the supervision of underage guests shall ensure that they do not purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages or violate any other shipboard regulation. The minimum drinking age onboard is 21 years old for cruises departing from U.S. ports and 18 years old for cruises departing from non-U.S. ports. Guests under the age of 18 may not play at the casino or use any spa facilities and must be accompanied by a person over 18 on shore excursions. The guest’s age on the date of sailing determines their status for the entire cruise.
We recommend one piece of luggage per person. Guests are asked to please attach the Costa Cruises tag, supplied with their travel documents, name and cabin number to the handle of their bag/suitcase before leaving it at the baggage drop at the port of embarkation. It will then be delivered directly to their cabin at no extra cost. On the final night of the cruise, luggage should be labeled and left outside the cabin door. Staff will collect it and guests will be able to reclaim it in the terminal building or the dedicated areas ashore after disembarkation. We highly recommend that guests use a TSA approved lock to secure their luggage.
Medicines, computers, camera equipment, valuables and delicate items should be carried in hand luggage. The dimensions of hand luggage must not exceed 55x35x25 cm in order for it to pass through x-ray security checks. We recommend that guests keep a small piece of hand luggage with everything they need for the following morning (documents, medicines, change of clothing, etc.).
We remind guests that the following items are strictly prohibited: arms and munitions, explosives, fireworks and flares, compressed or liquefied gas (flammable, non-flammable, refrigerants, irritants and toxic gases) such as camping gas, flare launchers, starter pistols, infectious or toxic substances, corrosive substances, radioactive substances and objects that could be used as weapons, as well as live animals. It is also prohibited to carry food and drink on board in carry-on bags and luggage.
Clothing to Pack
Daytime dress on a Costa cruise is casual, such as light cotton clothing or swimwear with cover-up when indoors. Sweaters, lightweight jackets, raincoats and hats are appropriate for Northern Europe. Tennis shoes or low-heeled walking shoes are recommended for exploring the ports of call. While most shore excursions do not have dress codes, some tours specifically prohibit shorts and sleeveless shirts and require ladies to wear knee-length skirts or slacks. Most every night is informal, guests may dress comfortably in resort attire, jackets for men are not required. There are typically one or two formal nights depending on the length of the cruise where guests may choose to dress formally: elegantly in a suit for men, cocktail dress for the ladies, or casually in elegant resort wear.
Costa Cruises has revolutionized its price system with three cruise rate categories. Costa’s new rates are applicable to departures beginning in April 2018 and are designed to meet all needs, with standard packages, packages for those who would like to treat themselves to some extra privileges, and packages for guests looking for the most exclusive luxury experience at sea. The Basic fare features a standard cabin with access to complimentary services and amenities on board. The cabin number will be automatically assigned just prior to sailing. Guests who book a cabin in the Basic fare will not collect any CostaClub daily points for the cruise they book; however, they will collect points on their purchases on board the ship. Guests who book the Basic fare who are members of the CostaClub have access to applicable CostaClub benefits onboard. The Basic fare cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts and is not retroactive. This promotion does not include a 10% Premium Future cruise credit (nor can it be redeemed), a beverage package or the choice of first or second dinner seating (this will be automatically assigned). Comfort Fare – Classic Category
The Classic categories feature the package “Brindiamo” includes wine and beer by the glass, coffee, tea, regular mixed drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails, select spirits, aperitifs, assorted juices by the glass, and soft drinks at any time. Guests under the age of 21 (for sailings out of USA ports), under the age of 18 (for sailings from all other ports), are free to choose between soft drinks, smoothies, juices, and hot chocolate. The Classic category features an excursions discount: the more excursions a guest books, the more they save (when booking at least one excursion before departure). The discounts will accumulate according to the number of booked tours. Guests who select the Classic category will sail in a standard cabin with access to complimentary services and amenities on board. They may choose their cabin number when purchasing the cruise. Standard cancellation fees apply. Combinable with select offers when available and indicated. This promotion does not include a 10% Premium Future cruise credit or the choice of first or second dinner seating (this will be automatically assigned). Guests who are members of the CostaClub who select the Classic category will collect up to 175 points for each day of the cruise, will earn CostaClub points for purchases made on board, will receive a CostaClub Privilege discount (available only on CostaClub Privilege departures) as well as applicable CostaClub benefits on board.
Comfort Fare – Premium Category
The Premium categories (including Mini Suites and Samsara cabins) feature the beverage package “Brindiamo” for each guest staying in the cabin and includes wine and beer by the glass, coffee, tea, regular mixed drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails, select spirits, aperitifs, assorted juices by the glass, and soft drinks at any time. Guests under the age of 21 (for sailings out of USA ports), under the age of 18 (for sailings from all other ports), are free to choose between soft drinks, smoothies, juices, and hot chocolate. The Premium category features an excursions discount: the more excursions a guest books, the more they save (when booking at least one excursion before departure). The discounts will accumulate according to the number of booked tours. Guests who select the Premium category will be accommodated in a cabin in a more convenient location on the ship’s deck and may also choose their cabin number when purchasing the cruise. With the Premium category, guests will choose between first and second dinner seating. Continental breakfast will be served in their cabin free of charge and they will have 24-hour room service. Spa access is included and unlimited for guests who book Samsara cabins aboard Costa Diadema, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Luminosa, Costa Favolosa, Costa Pacifica and Costa neoRomantica. The Premium category features a 10% discount on the next cruise with Costa (please note: the booking must be made within one year of the cruise). If the guest is a member of the CostaClub and selects a Premium category cabin, they will collect up to 350 points for each day of the cruise, earn CostaClub points for purchases made on board, receive the CostaClub Privilege discount (available only on CostaClub Privilege departures), and enjoy applicable CostaClub benefits on board. Standard cancellation fees apply. Premium category offers are combinable with other offers when available and indicated.
Deluxe Fare – Suite Category
The Deluxe fare includes Suites. The Deluxe fare features the beverage package “Intenditore” for each guest staying in the cabin and includes unlimited drinks ordered by the glass with a price up to 10 dollars/ euros, including top labels of liquor, beer, wine, champagne, mixed drinks and nonalcoholic beverages. This package also includes drinks from the minibar and served in the cabin. Guests who are minors can choose from sodas, smoothies and hot chocolate. The Deluxe fare features an excursions discount: the more excursions a guest books, the more they save (when booking at least one excursion before departure). The discounts will accumulate according to the number of booked tours. Deluxe guests will be accommodated in a spacious cabin with exclusive facilities and amenities to enjoy their cruise in maximum comfort and may choose their cabin number when purchasing the cruise. Deluxe privileges include: a basket of assorted fruit replenished daily, one bottle of Ferrari sparkling wine, Illy espresso coffee, Biasetto chocolates in the cabin on the night of the gala dinner, a minibar in the cabin with an assortment of drinks, access to the Jacuzzi, bath salts, bathrobe, slippers, a pillow menu, breakfast served in the cabin free of charge and 24-hour room service. The Deluxe fare also features a 10% discount on the next cruise with Costa (please note: the booking must be made within one year of your cruise). Guests who choose the Deluxe fare have access to the exclusive Suite restaurant on board for breakfast, lunch and dinner. These guests also have priority boarding and disembarkation at the port terminal with a reserved VIP area in Savona, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. Guests who choose the Deluxe fare receive personalized invitations to special events on board and enjoy exclusive oneday access to the spa area of the ship. Spa access is included and unlimited for guests who book Samsara Suites aboard Costa Diadema, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Luminosa, Costa Favolosa, Costa Pacifica and Costa neoRomantica. If the guest is a member of the CostaClub and selects a Deluxe fare cabin, they will collect up to 450 points for each day of the cruise, earn CostaClub points for purchases made on board, receive the CostaClub Privilege discount (available only on CostaClub Privilege departures), and enjoy applicable CostaClub benefits on board. Located at strategic points throughout the ship, interactive stands are equipped with touchscreens and are available in six (6) different languages. Guests can access information about life on board, purchase special services and review their cruise account at any time.
Guests who purchase staterooms of the Classic cabin category will be provided their dining time once onboard. Guests who purchase staterooms of the Premium cabin category, or Suites, will have the option of first or second dinner seating when making their reservation. Guests must advise if they are traveling with other guests not in the same cabin so they may be assigned to the same table when possible. The dining times shown are general guidelines only. Times may vary by itinerary and vessel and may include open seating on certain days for breakfast and lunch. Most ships have specialty dining restaurants available by reservation only and for an additional charge.
Costa neoClassica and Costa neoRiviera offer an innovative concept that offers a flexible dining experience that gives guests the freedom to dine with whomever they wish, at their conenience between 6:30pm and 10:00pm in elegant, upscale venues. Reservations are not permitte in the main restaurants. Seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis. If the restaurant is full, guests will be provided a pager and will be called when a table becomes available.
Personal Food and Beverage Items
Company Health and Safety standards for guests and crew members strictly prohibit any kind of drink or food onboard in hand or in cabin luggage. Personal care products, such as shampoo, sunscreen, baby care products, products certified by a doctor and liquid medicines are not subject to the rule. Any food or drink brought to embarkation will not be admitted onboard and kept at the pier to be returned when the ship returns to the embarkation port. Local regional products purchased (in keeping with customs laws) during excursions and port visits will be kept in custody by ship officers and upon arrival at the final port, will be released to the guest at disembarkation.
Information on disembarkation procedures will be published in Diario di Bordo, which is delivered to each cabin daily. Suite guests have priority when disembarking. The order of disembarkation for other guests will be established according to the departure times of any transfers and the presence of any organized groups. We ask guests to notify Costa Cruises in advance if they have any individual requirements. The disembarkation time shown in their travel documents may vary for reasons beyond Costa Cruises’ control.
Each cruise has a designated onboard currency of either U.S. Dollars or Euros, depending on the vessel's itinerary. The currency will generally be U.S. Dollars for cruises that begin and end in U.S. ports (most Caribbean cruises) and Euros for cruises that begin or end in European ports (such as Mediterranean and transatlantic cruises). The currency for exotic itineraries may be either U.S. Dollars or Euros. Guests are encouraged to contact Costa Cruises prior to sailing to confirm the currency for their cruise. All onboard expenses and additional charges will be charged to the onboard account in the currency of the cruise.
Aboard the ship, guests will receive a personal Costa Card which will automatically identify their name on the boarding list. During the cruise, they will need to use it when leaving the ship, making purchases in the onboard shops and paying for any extra services. Purchases will automatically be added to guests’ cabin accounts, which must then be settled at the end of the cruise in cash or by credit card.
Within 48 hours of embarkation, the guest who will not register a credit card has to make a cash deposit to cover onboard expenses. The minimum for the first cash deposit is €150 or $150 per person considering only adults (18 years of age and older). If onboard expenditure exceeds the deposit, a further deposit will be requested. Total expenditure will be calculated at the end of the cruise and, if applicable, guests will be refunded what remains of their deposit.
With proper identification, most major credit cards are accepted at many shops in port. Costa Cruises' onboard cashless system allows guests to sign for drinks, shore excursions and other purchases. These charges may be applied to the guests' credit cards. Within 48 hours of embarkation, the guest who will not register a credit card has to make a cash deposit to cover onboard expenses. The minimum for the first cash deposit is €150 or $150 per person considering only adults (18 years of age and older). If onboard expenditure exceeds the deposit, a further deposit will be requested. Total expenditure will be calculated at the end of the cruise and, if applicable, guests will be refunded what remains of their deposit. For convenience, U.S. Dollars may be converted at the Guest Relations Desk (service fees may apply). Personal or Travelers Checks cannot be cashed onboard.
Duty Free Purchases
The amount to be paid will be determined by a Customs Officer. U.S. residents are normally entitled to a duty-free exemption of $800 on those items accompanying them; non-residents are normally entitled to an exemption of $100. Both residents and non-residents will normally be required to pay a flat fee for duty on the first $1000 above their exemptions.
There is a casino on every Costa ship with slot machines, roulette and other gaming tables. According to international law, the casino is only open outside territorial waters and entry is permitted to adults only. If there is an overnight stop, the casino is closed in the evening. On days at sea, the casino is also open during the day. Guests can use their Costa Cards to play at the slot machines and gaming tables. Cash is also accepted to play.
Our ships have their own modern infirmaries that offer first aid and medical care, for a charge, by staff from the National Onboard Doctors Association as well as trained nurses. Emergency medications are also available. The opening times of the medical center and the pharmacy are listed in Diario di Bordo. Medication to relieve symptoms of seasickness is available free of charge from the Information Desk and the Infirmary.
We advise those on long-term therapies to bring all necessary medications with them, ensuring that they are accompanied by a description of their contents and dosage. We encourage all medications to be hand carried at the time of embarkation and disembarkation. Guests with medical conditions requiring the self-injection of therapeutic drugs or the use of needles are kindly asked to contact their cabin steward to request a special container to correctly dispose of sharp medical instruments.
Once guests have arrived on board the ship, we kindly ask that they familiarize themselves with the ship’s safety procedures by reading the information on the back of their cabin door. We also recommend that they take a few minutes to watch the safety video that appears on the television screen when they first enter the cabin and that they Review Diario di Bordo (the onboard daily newspaper) to see what time the emergency drill will take place.
Before departure, guests will be required to take part in a training session that will show them the route they must take to their muster station. The procedure is very simple and staff will be positioned throughout the corridors to help guide them to their muster station. The exact route is also on the back of the cabin door. Guests should wear comfortable clothes for the drill, bearing in mind that it finishes outdoors, and remember to wear their life jacket when taking part. When guests reach their muster station they will be shown the procedure to be followed in case of an emergency.
All crew members have a BST (Basic Safety Training) certificate, issued by a recognized international training center, and also take part in a very intense training program to familiarize themselves with the ship, with further training for the whole duration of their time on board. Depending on their role, staff also receive other forms of special training.
Smoking cigarettes, cigars and pipes is permitted only in certain areas of the ships including cigar lounges, designated outdoor smoking areas and outside on private balconies. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the cabins. To avoid the risk of fire, cigarettes must be extinguished and left in the ashtrays provided.
The Squok Club is designed with vibrant colors and furnishings, the latest video games, Xbox One stations, as well as Spin Master, Meccano, Spy Gear secret agent’s equipment and the Aquadoodle magic mat. Examples of activities offered for children include treasure hunts, sports competitions, dance and karaoke contests, costume parades and theme parties. Activities for teenagers include dance and music classes, sports competitions, pool parties with a midnight dip, games at the disco and theme dinners. The schedule at the Squok Club may be subject to change and all activities are published in Diario di Bordo and delivered to the cabin each day.
The Squok Club is divided by age groups, and are open from 9:00am – 12:00am:
- Mini from 3-6 years
- Maxi from 7-11 years
- Teen Junior from 12-14 years
- Teen from 15-17 years
Our ships are designed to accommodate children in strollers: elevators and spacious cabins, large decks and walkways. Children under three (3) years have priority boarding and can use the games room of the Squok Club (outside the busiest times and must be accompanied by an adult); but they cannot participate in the activities for children over three years old. Children who turn three during the cruise can access the Squok Club as soon as they embark.
For parents who want to participate in excursions while leaving their children on board, they need only notify the Squok Club 24 hours beforehand, so that they can accompany their children 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
Laundry and Dry Cleaning
There is an express laundry, ironing and dry-cleaning service on board. Laundry services can be arranged through the stateroom steward and are billed to the shipboard account. Laundry bags and a price list can be found in the cabin. For safety reasons, ironing in the cabins is strictly prohibited. There is no self-service laundry on board.
All cabins are equipped with their own private bathroom, shower, thermostat-controlled airconditioning, satellite TV, satellite telephone and direct telephone for ship calls, minibar, small safe and hairdryer. The name of the cabin steward is shown in the cabin. All the linen guests require in their cabins are supplied and changed regularly. The bathrooms are supplied with soaps and liquid soap for the shower. For environmental reasons, to limit the use of plastic, complimentary shower caps and moisturizing cream are available upon request from the cabin steward.
As well as the services and features common to all cabins, guests staying in Suites, Panoramic Suites, Grand Suites and Samsara Suites will receive the following privileges:
- Priority boarding
- Butler service
- Complimentary in-suite meals (upon request)
- Complimentary Intenditore beverage package
- Fresh fruit in the cabin every day
- A bottle of sparkling wine and tray of canapés on embarkation day
- Plush bathrobe and slippers
- Invitations to exclusive events and cocktail parties
- Reserved front row seats in the theater for allshows
- Access to the Thermal Area of the spa (where available)
Guests can order food to their cabin 24 hours a day by browsing the menu in their cabin and calling the number provided. The service is free for guests staying in Suites and Premium cabins; all other cabins will be charged. A 15% service charge will be applied to all wine and drink purchases.
If guests wish to order breakfast in their cabin, they must fill in the order form and hang it on the outside door handle before going to bed. Breakfast is free of charge for guests in Premium cabins, Suites and Samsara cabins. There is a charge for breakfast cabin service for Classic cabins.
The outlets in the cabins accommodate standard U.S. devices and have an alternating current of 220-110 volts / 60 Hz for Costa Diadema, Costa Fascinosa, Costa Favolosa, Costa Delizisoa, Costa Luminosa, Costa Pacifica, Costa Magica, Costa Mediterranea and Costa neoRiviera.
Guests can send and receive email through their own service provider in the Internet Center for a nominal charge. WiFi is also available for guests who have their own device. Credits and packages may be purchased directly from the onboard portal. The cost will be included in the onboard bill, payable at the end of the Cruise.
Ship-to-shore telephone service is available 24 hours a day from the stateroom while the ship is at sea or in port. Guests will find telephone and dialing instructions in their stateroom. If guests need to be reached while onboard, friends and family may call or fax the ship directly; or they may make contact via email through the guests own internet service provider which may be accessed via the Internet Center.
Guests may make phone calls while on board from their cabin via our satellite connection, as well as send and receive faxes. Ask at the Customer Service desk on board for details.
